Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fighting Techniques

My Personal experience with Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

At the age of twelve is when I first started my training in the martial art’s world. I practiced Ken-Po Karate for 5 years receiving my black belt, and winning many sparing competitions. One Saturday during basic training exercise, I was doing a jumping Spin kick, called the “360 Crescent Kick”. I performed the Kick three times in a row, landing each kick with award winning perfection. On the landing of the third kick, I heard a sound that wasn’t suppose to be there, (I know I had done the kick literally thousands of times). A crude Popping sound came screaming with pain from my left knee. I didn’t understand what happened; I did the kick perfectly, and yet I my knee gave out. At first I thought that maybe it was just some weird fluke, but after the third time back to the dojo, my knee kept popping in pain. That was the last time I ever walked into the dojo I spent five years of my life learning karate.

You could say it was hard for me to come to grips with the true reality. Before I was taught to truly believe that with the proper training, one could do most anything. I truly believed that the size of your body or any other rule of physics would be done away with, with pure technique. I was lured into a sense of false comfort with the idea of Karate, or Kung-Fu, or any other showbiz fighting style out there. The fact is that there are many people who had done these types of martial arts their whole lives without ever getting injured. However, these people are all 6ft or less, and weigh about 170lbs. At the time I hurt me knee, I was already over 200lbs, and in perfect shape.

Needless to say, I was a bit heart broken to know that I was too big to do karate, and I found out the hard way. Later a doctor would tell my I blew out my ACL tendon, and tore my meniscus to shreds.

It was a year later I was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I liked the idea of this martial art because of its all ground fighting nature; I knew I couldn’t ever do any of the crazy flying jump kicks use to love ever again, but I could start a new style composed with nothing but gravity friendly techniques.

My testimony is that after about a month of training in this martial art, I was able to take and defeat any Black belt, any baker, or even any candlestick maker. The basic fundamentals that Jiu-Jitsu taught me in one month, was enough to skyrocket me into a world of complete control over others in combat. I am going show you some of the basics Iv learned, that I know will make you a better fighter today. Click here to start your first lesson.
